Fort Bragg Weekend Picks: October 26

Prepare yourself for some spooktacular events happening this weekend—the last weekend before Halloween!

All Weekend

Halloween at the BOO-tanical Garden

Happening THIS weekend! Dress up in your best costume and walk the pathways of the Garden, lit up with hundreds of jack-o-lanterns for your spooky entertainment. They will have an outside glow area, hands-on-crafts, treats, and more that will be great for the kiddos. Bring your flashlights and some cash for refreshments. Boss Ross Dogs food truck will be on site as well!

Members get a discount on tickets and infants under the age of two are free. Click here to purchase tickets.

PS. On Thursday the 25th they will be hosting an adult night celebrating 20 years of the Harry Potter wizarding world (event linked here).

Friday October 26th

12th Annual SwampDogs Trunk or Treat

A great night for the whole family! Get your kiddos and dress to the nines—this trunk or treat is legit. There will be fun, candy, and games—not to mention a costume contest and a movie on the field. It isn’t movie time without concessions for snacking. Sponsors for the SwampDogs will have trunks full of candy, “ghosts, goblins [and] ghouls!” Don’t stay home this Friday—get out with the whole fam and enjoy some free candy and entertainment.

9th Annual Zombie Walk

You read that correctly–Zombie Walk!  At Fourth Friday this month, the anticipated annual event will be taking over downtown. If you have never been before, people and zombies alike get pretty into it! The pre-party starts at six at the Headquarters Library. Get your zombie make-up done in front of the library—compliments of the Paul Mitchell School.

There will be a costume contest, beginning at 7pm, and at 8pm the walk begins! It begins at the Headquarters Library and proceeds downtown. Following the walk will be a huge zombie party at the Market House with several bands playing until 10.

This is a family event! If you have some brave kiddos and a zombie loving fam, get everyone out and dressed up for this community event.

Saturday October 27th

Cornucopia Planter Workshop

The Green Side Up-Garden and Gift Center often has some great events happening for our community. This time is a creative session. The festivities include a cornucopia container, three plants, soil, and natural materials. Any and all participants will also receive 15% off on the day of the workshop. Get your front porch fall ready with this great creative planting workshop!

Trick or Treat at the 1897 Poe House (or Hallowe’en Revels Night Tours)

This is going to be a big family event. Trick or treaters can search for ravens in the Poe House, listen to Halloween stories, and play old fashioned games outside! There will be live music, a clown with balloon twisting, a kids costume contest, and concessions on site.

The project, supported by the Arts Council, is FREE, but it is $1 to enter the costume contest.

If you are more interested in the Hallowe’en Revels Night Tours, they are on the 24th-26th from 6pm-10pm. It is a night of historical theater and is designed to be historical—not scary. Tours will run every 20 minutes and tickets are $5 at the door. Click here to visit the Facebook event.

Sunday October 28th

Yappy Hour with World of Beer

It’s a silent auction! Head out to the World of Beer and support rescued animals. It is also a meet and greet. A portion of all sales will go to help keep the dogs and cats vetted. The Facebook event even encourages everyone to bring your own doggos in their best costumes for a Spooky Pooch Parade!

Cost: FREE (unless you purchase something or win an auction item)
