Fort Bragg Weekend Picks: January 25-27

The cold weather of winter doesn’t need to keep you indoors this weekend in Fayetteville, North Carolina! This weekend you could go ice skating downtown at Fourth Friday, throw axes at Axes and Armor’s open house, go hiking through the botanical gardens at night, or even go to a vintage pop-up sale at Fayetteville’s own Leclair’s General Store. These are our picks for this weekend at Fort Bragg!

Cool Spring On Ice

New to downtown Fayetteville’s Fourth Friday is this weekend’s temporary ice skating rink, to be constructed on Green Street! Friday through Sunday, head downtown to test your skills on ice. Pre-registration is HIGHLY recommended as slots on the ice are limited. Click here to register.  Price of admission gets you 45 minutes of skating and ice skate rentals!  You can also bring your own skates. Bring the whole family for this great event and embrace winter in Fayetteville!

When: Friday: 12pm-10pm, Saturday: 8am-10pm, Sunday: 10am-6pm

Saturday January 26

Axes & Armor’s Grand Opening

The Urban Axe Throwing Lounge has come to Fayetteville. What has been a featured booth at many events around town, to include the Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market, now has a permanent location. Cumberland County’s first indoor axe throwing facility is celebrating their grand opening this weekend. If you are planning on throwing an ax, click here to fill out a waiver online.

Cost: Starting at $20. Less for groups. Check the website for more info.

After Hours Night Hike

Head on out to the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens with the whole family this Saturday to enjoy an hour after dark in their gardens. Allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness and explore using your other senses. There will be fun games and experiments! Make sure to bring appropriate footwear, flashlights, and arrive on time because the doors will lock!

Sunday January 27

Vintage Pop-Up Sale

Leclair’s General store on Fort Bragg Road is hosting a pop-up vintage sale, complete with fabulous vintage finds, coffee, and more! If you have never checked out Leclair’s, this is a great opportunity to explore what is fast becoming a staple location in the culture of our community. A Vintage Life, owned by Amanda Garcia and featured in our blog post here, will be selling wares and meeting with everyone. Her baseball tees are also for sale at Leclair’s all month long.
