Paranormal at Heritage Square

Heritage Square Historical Society presents a paranormal event in downtown Fayetteville! They boast the most haunted house in Fayetteville and are offering guided tours to prove it. Wander the Sanford House in the dark and see the hauntings for yourself. Watch out for the Oval Ballroom and a surprise grand finale.

Friday March 1

Parents’ Night Out

Youth drop off events are taking off here in Fayetteville. Go out on a date or girls night with the peace of mind that your kiddos are having a supervised blast. Triangle Rock Club-Fayetteville hosts this rocking night of fun. There will be games, climbing, and food! Treat yourself this weekend.

Saturday March 2

Read Across America–A Downtown Fayetteville Event

Another great event downtown is part of Read Across America, a national program to promote reading among children and to celebrate the beloved author Dr. Seuss. Participating merchants and businesses will host arts and crafts, story time, and other exciting events for preschool through school aged children.

There will be an opening ceremony at the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum on Franklin Street where they will present kiddos with maps. At the end everyone will receive a free book! Wear a costume and/or hat for a chance to win a prize.

National Anthem Auditions for Woodpeckers Baseball Games

Show that you have what it takes to sing in front of 5,000+ people! The Woodpeckers are holding their National Anthem auditions this Saturday at The TapHouse on Hay Street.

To register, email the following to
Name, phone number, email, age, solo or group audition, singing or instrument (if instrument, which?), and include your preferred time slot on March 2nd: 12–1 PM, 1–2 PM, 2–3 PM, 3–4 PM, or 4–5 PM.

This is also a spectator sport. Don’t like singing? Have a beer and cheer on the performers!

Mardi Gras Soireé

The Cape Fear Botanical Gardens are hosting their very first Mardi Gras Soireé. The spirit of carnival will be in Fayetteville this Saturday with an evening of beads, doubloons, coconuts, king cakes, and all of the classic music and dancing of New Orleans.

Anyone 21 and over can experience stilt walkers, jazz musicians, and aerial performers. All tickets include appetizers, one complimentary drink ticket, and live entertainment. Cocktail dresses required, masks encouraged.

Cost: $50 single ticket, $85 couple tickets, $350 VIP table (seats 8)
