NC’s Premier Horse Park is in Raeford! +Fort Bragg Weekend Picks: March 8-10

This weekend you could see a two man play while seated on stage with the actors, witness horse trials at North Carolina’s premier horse park, attend ladies night at Dirtbag Ales on International Women’s Day, or even bring your furry friend to a K-9 fair at the Airborne and Special Ops Museum. These are our picks for this weekend at Fort Bragg!

All Weekend

The play “Trumbo” is at CFRT

March 7th through the 17th, “Trumbo” will be on stage at the Cape Fear Regional Theatre. This intimate setting, two man play was written by the son of Dalton Trumbo, a two-time Academy Award winning screenwriter. This humorous memoir is all about his wit that made him a legend and his politics that made him legendary. The play brings a commentary on themes of fatherhood, truth, and integrity as told through his personal letters to his son.

Cost: $15-$25 (discounts and group sales available)

Southern Pines Horse Trials in Raeford

Are you a horse lover? Check out the Carolina Horse Park’s first horse trials of 2019—free for spectators! The CHP is North Carolina’s premier equestrian center for both national and international competitions and hosts a diverse calendar of events on over 250 acres of protected land.

Friday March 8

Ladies Night at Dirtbag

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Dirtbag Ales will be hosting a ladies night. Not only is a night to celebrate, but is also a night for a great cause. They will be collecting feminine hygiene products to assist KidsPeace North Carolina Foster Care and Community Programs. KidsPeace provides therapeutic family based programs and treatment for children. Everyone who donates will be entered in a raffle!

In addition to beers and brews, some specially tapped for this evening, food trucks will be onsite, to include Allisons Latino Food Truck and Authentique Cafe.

Cost: No cover charge

Saturday March 9

2019 K-9 Veteran’s Day Fair

Hosted by the Airborne and Special Operations Museum Foundation, this fantastic event is free and open to the public. Bring the whole family (especially the dog!) to this fair. The opening ceremony for the Wounded Warrior Dog Exhibit with artist James Mellick as the guest speaker is at 10am.

Other activities include military and working dog demonstrations, tents and tables featuring groomers, vets and more, local shelters, kids crafts, and a raffle for a family four pack of Disney World tickets! Food trucks will be on site.

All dogs must be on a leash and are not permitted inside of the museum.
