The All American Marathon + more! Fort Bragg Weekend Picks: March 22-24

This weekend you could visit a baseball exhibit grand opening at a museum, walk the streets of downtown in bright red stilettos for a great cause, witness a lip sync battle by local “celebrities” at the Crown, or even participate in the annual All American Marathon. These are our picks for this weekend at Fort Bragg!

Friday March 22

Fayetteville Baseball Fever—Exhibit Opening

The Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum, located in downtown Fayetteville is opening their new exhibit this weekend—Fayetteville Baseball Fever! Our new minor league baseball team, the Woodpeckers’ first home game is in mid April and the county has certainly caught the fever of America’s favorite game.

This exhibit will highlight over 150 years of baseball history, including local stories, images, and artifacts to highlight Fayetteville’s past. This exhibit will be on display through 2020!

Walk A While In Her Shoes 2019

It’s Fourth Friday in downtown Fayetteville and with it comes a fantastic annual event we should probably all witness or participate in at least once in our lives.

Walk a While in Her Shoes is an annual walk, the proceeds of which provide FREE advocacy, counseling and support to more than 600 survivors of sexual violence each year. The walk takes place on Hay Street. Registration opens at 6pm at the Capitol Building and will end at Bright Light Brewing Company.  Shoe rentals are available!

Cost: $15-$30
When: 7pm-10pm

Saturday March 23

Fayetteville’s Ultimate Lip Sync Showdown

The annual lip sync showdown is back! This important event raises money for the Child Advocacy Center—a place of healing and hope for child abuse victims. The show regularly sells out so get your tickets ASAP!

The lip sync battle takes place at the Crown Ballroom. Social hour is at 6pm and and the show begins at seven. Local “celebrities” battle it out, lip syncing to music with choreographed routines that are sure to entertain.

Cost: $51-$76

Sunday March 24

6th Annual All American Marathon

This Sunday you can participate in the annual All American Marathon, Mike to Mike half marathon, or All American 5k. Runners will travel from downtown Fayetteville through historic Fort Bragg and receive a participant shirt and finisher medal, plus other awards. It is definitely a family friendly event with volunteer opportunities as well!

The 5k is walker and stroller friendly. Children can participate if they are registered.

Cost: $35-$105
When: 7am-2pm
Where: Festival Park (5k begins on Fort Bragg)
