Segra Stadium Ribbon Cutting & the Annual UnityFest: our picks for April 12-14

Spring is springing and Easter is just around the corner. The amount of fun, family friendly, and date worthy events are growing consistently and we are so excited to share a plethora of potential with you today.

This weekend you could visit the All American Tattoo Convention at the Crown, go Star Gazing at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden, test the whole family’s knowledge at the TapHouse’s Disney Trivia breakfast, attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for Segra Stadium, or even participate in a prayer walk followed by a Unity Festival featuring artists like Tasha Cobbs Leonard. These are our picks for this weekend at Fort Bragg!

All Weekend

The All American Tattoo Convention

The third annual tattoo convention is coming to the Crown this weekend. This epic event has been featured twice by World Tattoo Events and is well worth your time. Its features include a sideshow act, pinup contest, and over 30 tattoo contestants to be judged by world renowned individuals, including Jeremy Hana and other tattoo artists.

A portion of all ticket sales go towards assisting soldiers with PTSD and other combat related injuries.

Cost: $25-$65
When: Friday from 2pm to 12am, Saturday & Sunday from 12pm to 12am

Friday April 12

Star Party

The Cape Fear Botanical Garden does it again with an astronomical event for all ages. Gaze at the stars, walk a luminary-lit path and learn all about the skies. Relax by a bonfire while talking with local astronomy enthusiasts and engage in several planned activities for all levels and interests.

Make sure you bring a flashlight to this great event—perfect for a date or even a family night. Take part in this event that supports the North Carolina Statewide Science Festival and Statewide Star Party.

Saturday April 13

Family Disney Trivia

The TapHouse hosts a much anticipated Disney Trivia event, fantastic for the whole family. Get in on the fun and if you’re a super expert, you could win something (most often a gift card)! Have breakfast and bring your knowledge of all Disney’s classic animated films from 1937’s Snow White to the more recent Coco. Test your knowledge and have fun with the kiddos this weekend. Breakfast opens at 8am.

Expert tip: get there EARLY for seats. This is a themed trivia event, which usually draws a big crowd!

Segra Stadium Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Admission is free for this fun, historical event—the ribbon cutting of the new Segra Stadium that will host the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, our minor league team! You will get an inside look at the new stadium with a tour.

The first home game is just seven days away and the stadium recently announced more general admission tickets being sold due to the high demand. Will you be at the April 18th home opener versus the Carolina Mudcats?

AsONE Prayer Walk followed by the AsONE UnityFest

This two part event is a must if you have never been before. The second Saturday of each April, people of various ages and religious denominations gather in historic downtown Fayetteville to walk in prayer. The walk begins at 10am at Festival Park and has five stations along the route, to include a station to pray for our active and non-active duty military and their families, regional and civic leadership, and law enforcement, among others.

At 5pm the UnityFest kicks off in Festival Park, featuring some of the best gospel and Christian artists in the nation. Features include Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Anna Golden and Todd Galberth. Click here to purchase tickets.

Cost: Prayer walk is FREE, UnityFest is $20.
