Saturday November 30, 2019. #ShopSmallFayNC
The holidays are here and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. If you are up on your Christmas shopping, you already know that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are huge in the retail world, with great deals for all of your festive needs.
Did you know that Small Business Saturday is rapidly sweeping the nation? All thanks to American Express, this national movement began in 2010 during the recession in an effort to bring attention to small businesses in your community.
Our own CEED (Center for Economic Empowerment and Development), a local nonprofit that serves as a resource and advocacy center to help clients succeed, is a huge supporter of this movement. They believe in encouraging people to shop small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses.

Approximately 67 cents of every dollar you spend at a local establishment goes back into the community. This year, on November 30, 2019, the participating small businesses of Fayetteville will open their doors with great deals for all of their customers.
Here are some resources to help you plan your Saturday Strategy:
- Use this American Express map to find small businesses near you.
- Use this information on downtown Fayetteville shopping and eating.
- Use this resource for downtown Fayetteville parking.
CEED will release a list of participating businesses on November 22, 2019.
Let us and your friends know that you are shopping and eating local by using the hashtag #ShopSmallFayNC, because shopping at family owned businesses and buying handmade items creates more vibrant communities. Shop small. Shop local. Shop small business Saturday.
