Your Guide to the 2021 Holidays in Fayetteville

It is the most wonderful time of the year! We wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the local holiday events happening over the next several weeks.

#1. Kick off the season in downtown Fayetteville with the annual A Dickens Holiday on Black Friday, November 26.

#2. Take a drive through the Festival of Lights at Sweet Valley Ranch. After driving through the light display involving animals and a nativity scene, visit Tiny’s Christmas Playland across the street to meet Sanata, shop, and go on rides! November 26 – December 26.

#3. Attend the brand new musical “The Carols,” at Gilbert Theater, November 26 – December 19.

#4. Visit the stunning Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary, November 19 – January 9.

#5. Sample some quality North Carolina spirits at Dirty Whiskey’s first Old North State Distillery Festival, November 20.

#6. Check out the drive through Festival of Lights at Lu Mil Vineyard. They also have a candy shop! November 26 – December 23.

#7. Take a drive to Pinehurst on small business Saturday and support their Pop-Up Holiday Market at the Fair Barn, November 27.

#8. Shop Small Business Saturday in both downtown Fayetteville, and at Dirtbag Ales, November 27.

#9. The thrilling and festive production of A Magical Cirque Christmas will be at the Crown Complex on November 30.

#10. The annual Singing Christmas Tree presentation returns to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church this year, December 2 – 5.

#11. Sweet Tea Shakespeare’s annual Christmas tradition is back! “Behold: A Folk Christmas Cantata” is an intimate live concert, taking place at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church from December 2 – 11.

#12. Witness the lighting of the Aberdeen Christmas tree and the arrival of Santa with special performances and light refreshments, December 2.

#13. Holiday Lights in the Garden at Cape Fear Botanical Garden returns. The entire garden will become a winter wonderland, complete with Santa, s’mores, and entertainment. December 3 – 23.

#14. The classic holiday ballet, “The Nutcracker,” will be presented at Methodist University, December 3 – 5.

#15. The festive Christmas Tree Lighting in the Village of Pinehurst also features Santa Claus, music, and cheer. December 3.

#16. Get the whole family out to see a play this holiday season. The 30th annual production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at Cape Fear Regional Theatre is a local favorite! December 4 – 19.

#17. Drive through Arnette Park for their annual Christmas in the Park lights display. December 5 – 21.

#18. Spend an evening with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and the voices from Cumberland Choral Arts as they perform Handel’s Messiah. December 5.

#19. Visit the Segra Stadium for one of their two weekend Holiday Lights event that will include lights, Santa, and giving back to the community. December 9-12, 16-19.

#20. The German Christmas Market at Dirtbag Ales is a fun tradition, with traditional German inspired food, local artisans and crafts, shopping and more! December 10 – 12.

#21. Spend the morning in downtown Fayetteville at the Rotary Christmas Parade on December 11.

#22. Donate to our annual holiday food drive, with all donations going to local food pantries! Email for more information.

#23. Disney on Ice Presents Mickey’s Search Party at the Crown Complex, December 16 – 19.

#24. Night Circus: A District New Year’s Eve Spectacular is the first official New Years Eve event in Fayetteville in almost a decade! Head to Festival Park on December 31 to ring in the new year.
